Bank robbery at Rathfarnham, Dublin on the 3/5/11 and arrests - Court appearance

A man a aged in his 30's is due to appear before a sitting of Tallaght District Court this morning (5/5/2011) charged in relation to a Bank robbery at Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on the 3/5/2011.

A second man arrested in relation to this incident has been released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecution.

Gardaí at Rathfarnham investigating a bank robbery at the Rathfarnham Shopping Centre yesterday (3/5/11) have arrested two men in the Dublin 8 area this morning (4/5/11).

At approximately 12 noon yesterday (3/4/11) a lone gunman entered the Bank branch and demanded money from the cashier. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was observed getting into a small blue car which was located a short time later. No shots were fired and no persons injured.  

In a follow-up operation this morning two men were arrested ( mid 30’s/ early 40’s) in connection with this incident. They are both being detained at Rathfarnham Garda Station under Section 30 Offences the State Act 1939.
