ATM Raid at Wicklow on the 1/5/11

At approximately 5.45am this morning, 1/5/11, 6 men were seen using a digger to remove an ATM machine from the wall outside the Bank of Ireland in Tinahely, Co. Wicklow.

Vehicles used in this theft are a black Mitsubishi Pajero registration  03 CN 712 stolen overnight in Tullow Co. Carlow, a silver Toyota Landcruiser 06kk946 stolen overnight from Castledermot Co. Carlow, a tractor & trailor unit (90 WX 4156) stolen overnight from Clonegal, Co. Wexford and a  digger described as a Koulco, Longarmed digger. <_o3a_p> 

All these vehicles were left at the scene and the offenders left in a dark coloured car – no better description.  It was driven towards the <_st13a_street><_st13a_address>Aughrim Road.  It is believed that they had at least 1 firearm.<_o3a_p> 

We are unaware of the amount of cash taken at this time.<_o3a_p> 

No-one was injured during the incident.

There was believed to be a number of members of the public in and around the Tinahely area at the time and anyone with information to offer is asked to contact Gardaí at Baltinglass on 059 6482610, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.<_o3a_p> 

We are making a similar request regarding all vehicles used in the theft and anyone who may have witnessed them being stolen or on route to the crime scene are asked to contact the same numbers.<_o3a_p>
