Gardai in Pearse Street investigating the death of a 40 year old man at Wellington Quay on the 20th May 2011 have charged a 34yr old man.
He will appear before Court no 1 Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate Street at 10.30am on the 23rd May 2011.
Gardai in Pearse Street are investigating a serious assault that occurred at Wellington Quay and Fownes Street junction (just past the Ha’penny bridge) this afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. the 20th May, 2011.
The injured man aged 40yrs was removed to St. James’s Hospital where he died this evening from his injures.
A 34 year old man was arrested at the scene and is presently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street Garda Station. The scene is currently preserved.
