As part of intelligence led operation involving the Garda National Drugs Unit, the Galway Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service a search was carried out on 2 vehicles this morning, the 22nd March 2011 in the car park of a business premises at Oranmore, Galway.
During the course of the search 20kgs Herbal Cannabis approximately value €250,000(subject to analysis) were seized.
Two men from Galway aged 50 and 45 were arrested and are detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Mill Street Garda Station, Galway.
Investigations are ongoing.
