Gardai at Carrickmacross Garda Station are investigating a serious assault that occured shortly after 5 a.m. this morning Saturday, the 4th June, 2011 at Lisdoonan, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.
A male in his early 20's sustained serious injuries and was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
The scene is currently preserved.
A male in his late teen's was arrested this morning in relation to the incident and is currently detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
