Seizure of cannabis herb at Dublin Port on the 29/6/11

As a result of joint a operation between the Garda National Drug Unit and Revenue's Customs Services 91kgs of cannabis herb has been seized this afternoon, the 29th of June 2011 at Dublin Port.

The drugs were concealed in a consignment of Chocolates that had arrived from the Netherlands.

One man, an Irish National in his late 20's has been arrested by Gardai and is currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.  He can be detained for up to seven days.
