Santry Fatal Shooting 16/06/2011

Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of a man last night, the 15th of June, have discovered a hand gun close to the scene. The gun will undergo a ballistics examination at the Technical Bureau in Garda Headquarters. A forensic technical examination of the scene is underway . The body of the dead man is expect to be removed from the scene shortly and a post mortem examination will take place later this evening.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the general area of The Green, Larch Hill, Santry, Dublin 9 between the hours of 7.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m. on the 15th of June to contact them at Santry Garda Station on 01 666 4000.

ardai investigating a fatal shooting in Santry on the 15th of June 2011 have arrested a man in 50s. The man is detained under Section 50 of The Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Ballymun Garda Station. He may be detained for up to seven days.
 

 

The victim of yesterday’s fatal shooting in Santry has been named as 49 year old Edward Flanagan of Primrose Grove, Coolock, Dublin 17.

 

The Post Mortem has concluded and it determined that death was as a result of gunshot wounds.

 

The man arrested in relation to this incident remains in custody and there has been no further arrests.
