Man in River Blackwater identified & witness appeal

Gardai in Fermoy have identified the male body that was recovered from the River Blackwater on Friday 10th June, 2011 at 1.25p.m. We would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter.

However, the Gardai are anxious to trace the movements of the deceased on the Friday morning of the 10th June, 2011 between 9a.m. and when his body was recovered at 1.25p.m., in particular any person who may have seen the deceased at Barnane Walk, Fermoy or any persons who were in the Barnane walk area between 9a.m. and 1.30p.m.

Information sought on the identity of a male taken from the River Blackwater  at Fermoy on Friday the 10th June 2011 at 1.25 p.m.

Gardai in Fermoy are  trying to identify the body of a male person which was taken from the River Blackwater near Fermoy Rowing Club on Friday the 10th June 2011 at 1.25 p.m.

Description of Male:

Age:  Mid 40s to early 50s, Foreign National, approx  5' 10''

Build: Slim

Hair: Black hair going grey - balding to the front

Tattoo:   - Word "Rangers" Tattoo on upper right arm.

Marks :   Tip of index finger on right hand missing
  Surgical scar on abdomen

Clothing:
- Dark Blue Denim Hoodie Jacket : Santa Fe Outback brand - SFO gold buttons on jacket
- Woollen multi-coloured jumper
- Black T-Shirt with "Protect your Nuts" in silver writing with picture of Squirrel underneath
- Dark Blue Edge Branded Jeans 
- Reebok Runners - white, black and red - size 9
