Investigation into the murder of Stephen Byrne on the 13/7/10 - Arrests

Gardai have arrested 7 people as part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of Stephen Byrne at Sheriff Street on the 13th July 2010.

Four males, two aged in their 20's, one in his 30's, and one in his 50's, are detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.  Another male aged in his late teens is detained under Section  50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.  Two females aged in their late 20's and early 30's are also detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.
 
All of the above were arrested this morning (1/6/2011) in the north inner city area and a being held at a number of Garda Stations around Dublin.
 
This brings to 13 the total number of arrests in relation to this investigation.

Gardai are investigating a shooting incident  on Sheriff Street, Dublin 1 at 4.45 p.m. on the 13th July 2010.The injured man, who is believed to be in his 30's, was taken to the Mater Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The area has been sealed off by Gardai pending a technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Store Street Garda Station on 666 8000.

Gardai are investigating a shooting incident at the junction of Sheriff Street Lower and St. Laurence O'Toole Place, Dublin 1 at 4.45 p.m. on the 13th of July 2010. The man, who is believed to be 32 years old, was shoot at the scene, he was removed to the Mater Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  The area was sealed off by Gardai pending a technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and door to door enquiries are being carried out in the area.
