Fatal road traffic collision at Castlemaine, Kerry on the 21/6/11

Gardai in Killorglin are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision at Castlemaine on the 21st June 2011.

The collision occurred at approximately 10.45pm on the 21st June 2011 on the Castlemaine to Firies Village road (R561). Two cars were involved in the collision. A female (75yrs) passenger in one of the cars was seriously injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were also injured and were taken to Tralee General Hospital.Their injuries were described as serious but stable. 

 
The road is still closed off for a Forensic Collision Examination and diversions are in place.
