Body discovered Ennis, Clare on the 7/6/11 - Court appearance

A 31 year old man will appear before Ennis District Court this evening (8/6/11) charged in connection with an incident in Cappabeg Co Clare yesterday.

Gardaí at Ennis, Co. Clare are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body (believed to be in his early 20s).

The body was found shortly after 7am this morning Tuesday 7th June 2011, in an open space in an area called Cappabeg approximately 5 miles from the town of Ennis.

A man in his early 30s has been arrested in connection with this incident. He is currently detained in Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The area is currently sealed off pending a Garda forensic examination and the body remains at the scene.   The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have been in the area of Cappabeg between yesterday evening Monday 6th June 2011 or this morning Tuesday 7th June 2011, or who may have information  to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065-6848100, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Investigating Gardaí believe a number of  taxis were in the area of Cappabeg last night and we are appealing to them to contact the Incident Room at Ennis on 065-6848100, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
