Drugs arrest north Dublin

The Garda National Drugs Unit, in conjunction with Revenue's Customs Service, is conducting a strategic intelligence led operation into Cocaine trafficking where couriers are utilised to bring controlled drugs from South America into Ireland. As part of this investigation, two females aged 22 and 44 were arrested Thursday evening, 130111, at a Dublin northside hotel.

Both females were taken to Finglas Garda Station where they were detained under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The 22 year old female has been charged and will appear before Dublin District Court 44 this morning (150111) at 10.30am.

The 44 year old remains in custody in Finglas.

A total of 14 kgs of Cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately €1million ( subject to analysis ) was seized as part of this aspect of the investigation.
