Discovery of body in a field close to Bellgree Avenue, Tyrellstown, Dublin on the 13/1/11 - Press briefing

Gardai investigating the discovery of the body of a male in a field close to Bellgree Avenue, Tyrellstown, Dublin 15 on the 13/1/11 will hold a Press Briefing at 5.45pm on the 14/1/11 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Gardai in Blanchardstown have launched an investigation and are examining all the circumstances following the discovery of the body of a male in a field close to Bellgree Avenue, Tyrellstown, Dublin 15.

Gardai searching fields in that area this afternoon at 3.15pm, 13th January 2011, discovered the body in a ditch.  The body has not been identified at this stage.  The area has been sealed off and preserved for technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
 
The scene is due to be visited by the State Pathologist in the morning (14th January 2011).
 
Gardai are asking anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in the last 7 days in the area near Bellgree Avenue or the nearby playing-fields to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01-6667000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
