Additional appeal - Co. Tipperary fatal collision

Gardai in Cashel, Tipperary investigating the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the main N8 from Cashel to Dublin this morning (see previous release below) are making an additional appeal for public assistance in identifying those who died in the incident.

The three deceased males at this time can be described as aged in their twenties, of slim to medium build, dark haired and possibly of Romanian or eastern European ethnicity.

The car they were travelling in is a blue four door Volkswagon  Passat, registration 99 D 89487.

It is believed that the vehicle was travelling southbound prior to the collision.

Gardai are particularly appealing to members of the Romanian community or anyone who may recognise this car to contact Gardai at Cashel on 062 - 75840, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-600-111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai in Cashel, Co. Tipperary are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the main N8 from Cashel to Dublin Northbound.

The collision happened at 22.50 hours last night, Friday 21st January, 2011, and involved a rigid truck and a car.

Three men, one driver, a front seat passenger and rear seat passenger in the car were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies remain at the scene. The driver of the rigid truck was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital for minor injuries.

Forensic collision investigators are at scene at present and the road is closed and will remain closed until their examination is complete. Diversions are in place.
