Witness appeal - Dublin city assault

Gardai in Store Street are seeking the publics assistance in the investigation of a serious assault that occurred shortly before 10.30 p.m. on Friday 11th February, 2011 on Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1.

An altercation occurred between two males, one in his late 20’s and the other in his early 30’s.  It occured outside the Irish Life Mall building.  The male in his late 20’s was removed to the Mater Hospital and is currently in a critical condition.

Gardai are particularly interested in hearing from any witnesses that may have been in the vicinity of Lower Abbey Street between 10.15p.m. and 10.30 p.m. on Friday night 11th February, 2011.  There was a number 33 bus on Lower Abbey Street at the time of the incident with passengers on board who may have witnessed the incident.
