Traffic alert - Dublin 17th February 2011 - Update

The M50 has now re-opened to traffic following an earlier collision.

Arising from the collision a total of 3 people were taken to Hospital.  Two women aged in their 70's were taken to St. Vincents Hospital their conditions are described as stable.  A man in his 30's was taken to Loughlinstown Hospital his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Gardai are currently at the scene of a multi vehicle road traffic collision on the M50 between Junction 16 Cherrywood and Junction 17  M50/M11.

The collision, involving up to 6 motor cars, occurred at approximately 18.20 hours.

The south bound carriageway of the M50 between Junctions 16 & 17 is currently closed to traffic.

Traffic diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
