Murder of Paul Ryan, Birr Co Offaly, 12th April 2003

On the 12th April 2003 at the approx 8.15am the body of Paul Ryan (27 yrs) of Grangemore Lawns, Donaghmede, Dublin 5 was found in a gateway at Coolderry, Birr, Co. Offaly.

He received gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was removed to Tullamore hospital. The incident was investigated by the Gardai at Birr. A number of people were arrested in connection with the incident and a male 45 yrs was charged in connection with the incident.<_o3a_p>

As a result of on going investigations by the Gardai in Birr and a review of the case by the Serious Crime Review Team a European arrest warrant was issued for a male. This European Arrest Warrant was executed by Kent Police, <_st13a_country-region>Great Britain on the 17th February 2011 and a male 37 yrs was arrested and brought before City of <_st13a_city><_st13a_place>London, Magistrates court. He was remanded in custody to appear before <_st13a_street><_st13a_address>City of London Magistrates Court on Monday the 28th February 2011.<_o3a_p>
