Investigation into the activities of dissident Republicans in Wexford - Arrests

As part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of dissident Republicans, members of the Garda Special Detective Unit, assisted by local Gardaí from Wexford, arrested a male in his early 20’s, following the search of a house at Barnstown, Co. Wexford this morning (18/2/11) at 8a.m.

During the course of the search, component parts which could be used in the assembly of improvised explosive devices (IED’s) were seized.

The man is currently detained at Wexford Garda Station under Section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939.

Investigations are continuing.
