Discovery of a body in Kildare on the 2/2/11 - Update

Gardai investigating the discovery of the body at Moyvalley, Broadford, Co. Kildare have now positively identified the man as 31 year old Jason O'Dea who was missing from his accommodation at Buckingham Street Lower, Dublin 1 since the 27th November 2010.

The postmortem examination was completed today at Naas General Hospital, however further tests have to be carried out.  Gardai are continuing to search the area around where the body was found and the investigation is ongoing.

Gardai are asking anyone with information, or anyone who saw any unusual activity in the Moyvalley area since late November 2010 to contact them at Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man in a field at Moyvalley, Broadford, Co. Kildare.

The discovery was made by a member of the public at about 10.30 a.m. on the 2nd February 2011.

The body of the man, believed to be in his 30's, remains at the scene pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau.
