Gardai in Carrickmacross investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle on the 2/8/11 at approximately 10.15pm on the N2 Carrickmacross to Castleblaney Road arrested a 37 year old man yesterday, the 3rd August 2011 in Carrickmacross.
He was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended he was later charged in connection with the incident and will appear before a sitting of Dundalk District Court at 11am this morning, the 4th August 2011.

23 year old male cyclist was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
