Body discovered at the Royal Canal, Dublin 1 on the 20/8/11

Gardaí at Fitzgibbon Street, Dublin are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a 22 year old man this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to an incident at approximately 6.30am this morning (20/8/11) at the Royal Canal, Ballybough Bridge, Dublin 1 where it is believed a 22 year old man fell into the canal.  The man was taken from the water and subsequently removed to the Mater Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.


Investigating Gardaí are appealing to any person who was in the area at the time (6am to 6.30am this morning) or who may have information to contact the Gardaí at Fitzgibbon St 01-666 8400, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
