Shooting incident and arrest at Coolock, Dublin on the 17/9/10

Gardai investigating a shooting incident in Coolock, Dublin on the 17th September 2010 have arrested one man.

The incident took place at Adare Road, Coolock shortly before 1.30 a.m.  Gardai responded to reports of shots being fired at the scene and when they arrived they discovered a 22 year old man with a gun shot wound to his leg.  There were two other men and two women in the house with the victim at the time of the shooting.

The injured man was taken to Beaumont Hostital where his condition is described as stable.  Gardai investigating the incident have located a car near to the scene which they believe to have been used by the gunman.  In a follow-up operation Gardai arrested a 24 year man close to the scene and he was taken to Ballymun Garda Station where he is detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act, he can be detained for up to 72 hours.
