Incident at O'Connell Bridge on the 7/5/10 - Witness Appeal

Gardai at Store Street wish to appeal for witnesses to an incident that occurred on O’Connell Bridge, Dublin 1 on the 7th May 2010 at approximately 5.45pm.

A blue 09 D registration Hyundai Santa Fe Jeep which has stopped for a red light on the North bound side of O’Connell Bridge, intending to turn right onto Eden Quay, was taken from the owner when she got out to close an opened door. A male stepped into the jeep and drove away at speed in the direction of Eden Quay. During the incident the woman was knocked to the ground.

Gardai are particularly interested in talking to the male driver of what is described as a silver Toyota Corolla /Avensis Verso Taxi who may have witnessed this incident. It is believed that he was carrying a female passenger at the time and was also driving North bound on O'Connell Bridge.
