Gardai in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Clootumper, Ballyhaunis Co Mayo shortly after 2.00am this morning – 22nd May 2010.
A 30 year old female was pronounced dead at the scene after the motorcycle on which she was a pillion passenger collided with a sign.
The 26 year old male driver of the vehicle was taken to Castlebar Hospital where his injuries are not believed to be serious.
Road diversions are in place locally and anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Swinford Garda station on 094-9252990.
