Gardai in Mallow are investigating a fatal collision which occurred at Upper Quarterstown, Mallow, Cork at approximately 6.45pm this evening – 3rd May 2010.
The collision occurred on the old Mallow to Cork Road, at Quarterstown which is approx. one and a half miles from Mallow. A male in his late 20’s died when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a parked car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger (male late 20’s) who was on the motorcycle at the time of the collision has been brought to Cork University Hospital; his condition is described as critical.
The road is currently closed for a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place. It is believed the road will re-open later on tonight.
