Discharge of a firearm at Tullamore, Offaly on the 26/4/10

Gardai in Tullamore investigating the discharge of a firearm at Cluain Darragh, Tullamore on the 26/4/10 at approximately 2.30am are due to bring a male before Tullamore District Court this afternoon (2/5/10).

This incident related to a firearm being discharged at the front door of a house in the Cluain Darragh estate on the 26/4/10. No one was injured in the incident. During the course of the investigation a firearm was recovered.

The 26 year old male was arrested on the morning of the 29.04.10 in the Athlone area and had been detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Tullamore Garda Station.

He is now due to appear at a special sitting of Tullamore District Court today (2/5/10) at 1pm in connection with this incident.
