Murder of John McManus in November 2008 - 2nd Person charged

The man was arrested this morning, the 11/3/10.

A man in his 40's will appear at Cork District Court this morning, the 11th March 2010 charged in relation to the murder of John McManus in November 2008.

Gardai in Cork investigating the murder of John McManus in November 2008 have arrested a female in her 30’s today the 10th March 2010 she has been charged in relation to the incident and will appear before Cork District Court No. 2 at 10.30am on Thursday, the 11th March 2010.

The postmortem examination being carried out on the body of John McManus in Cork University Hospital has been completed. (previous releases below refer).

The incident is now being investigated as a murder.

The results of the postmortem will not be made known at this time for operational reasons.

Gardai at Listowel investigating the discovery of the body of a male in the Ballyduff area of North Kerry yesterday evening (6th November 2008) have formally identified the body as being that of missing 25 year old John McManus from Wellinton Road in Cork City.

A postmortem examination of the body is currently continuing in Cork University Hospital.

Gardaí at Watercourse Road are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 25 year old John Mc Manus who was last seen in the Mayfield area of Cork City on Thursday last, 30 Oct 2008.

John has an address in the Wellington Road area of the city.

He is described as being 5' 8'' tall with slim build and short brown hair.

When last seen he was wearing a black tracksuit bottoms, white runners and a light blue hoody.

He was also unshaven.

His family are concerned for his safety.
