Murder of Andrew Burns at Donnyloop, Castlefin, Donegal on the 12/2/10 - Arrest

Gardai at Letterkenny investigating the murder of Andrew Burns at Donnyloop, Castlefin, Co. Donegal on the 12th of February 2008 have arrested a 35 year old male on the 16th March 2010 in relation to the incident.

The 35 year old was charged and appeared at the Special Criminal Court on the 16th March 2010.

On the 1st Anniversary of the murder of Andrew Burns from Strabane, Co. Tyrone, Gardai are appealing for anyone who has information, no matter how insignificant they may think it is, to come forward.

The murder occurred shortly after 7 p.m on the 12th February 2008 in the border village of Donnyloop, Castlefin, Co. Donegal. The investigation into this murder is on-going and a significant number of people have provided information to date. However, it is believed that some people have not come forward and are in possession of vital information that could help bring the people responsible to justice.

Gardai from Lifford Garda station, Donegal are at the scene of a fatal shooting at Donnyloop, Castelfin, Donegal close to the border with Strabane, Northern Ireland. The scene has been preserved and the services of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested. Any person with information is asked to contact Lifford Gardai on 074-914-1000.
