He will appear in court at Tallaght District Court at 10.30hrs on the 4th March 2010.

Gardai at Tallaght Garda Station investigating the murder of Seamus O'Byrne at Tymon North Park, Tallaght, on the 13th of March 2009, have arrested a 32  year old man this morning, the 3rd of March 2010.


The man is detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act 1939/98 at Tallaght Garda Station and may be detained for up to 72 hours.

Gardaí investigating last night's shooting in Tallaght are appealing to the public with regards to 2 suspects and 2 suspect cars.  The gunman was seen running from the scene on Tymon North Park into Tymon North Gardens.


He then entered a car and was driven away.


This car was a silver coloured Nissan Primera with a partial registration number of 00D.  It was seen in nearby Castlelawn Estate a short time later.


Another car, a sky blue Volkswagen Pasat, with a partial registration number of 06WW was also seen in Tymon North Gardens at the time of the shooting.


The gunman is believed to be 25 - 30 years of age, 5' 8'' / 5'9'' tall with dark hair.  He was dressed in black and had a hood.


The other man is believed to be in his mid to late 30's, 5' 8'' / 5' 9'' tall with a strong build and dark tight cut hair.


Please note that the time of the shooting was 8.20pm approximately.

Gardaí investigating last night's fatal shooting in Tymon North Park have made 3 arrests.


The arrests were made late last night in the Crumlin area.


All 3 people arrested are male and they are being detained at Rathfarnham and Tallaght Garda Stations under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.


One man is in his late teens and the other two are in their mid 20's.


There are no further updates at this time.

Gardaí at Tallaght are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the driveway of a house on Tymon North Park shortly before 8.30pm this evening.


A 27 year old man was shot a number of times by a lone gunman and died at the scene.


A 26 year old female was shot in the leg and has been taken to Tallaght Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.


The scene has been preserved and the services of The Garda Technical Bureau and The State Pathologist have been requested.


No arrests have been made.
