Traffic incident on the M50 on the 18/6/10

At approximately 4am this morning a 25 tonne truck went through a barrier and overturned on the bridge crossing the M50 at the Red Cow interchange.

The barrier was left dangerously overhanging the M50 at this location and it is now considered necessary to close the M50 in both directions at the Red Cow interchange to facilitate it's removal.

It is envisaged that this road closure will take place at approximately 11am this morning.

The road closure should not have to be in operation too long.

Traffic disruption at present is being kept to a minimum but motorists are asked to avoid this area and use alternative routes where possible.

We will advise when the road re-opens.
