Serious injury road traffic collision at Scrubb, Killeigh, Offaly on the 14/7/10 - Witness appeal

Gardaí at Tullamore are appealing for assistance from the public in relation to a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred at Scrubb, Killeigh, shortly before 7.30pm yesterday evening, Wednesday the 14th July 2010.

The collision occurred on the N80, which is the main Tullamore to Portlaoise Road, outside Condron's Tyres.

A 69 year old pedal cyclist came off his bicycle and suffered severe head injuries.  No other vehicle was involved.

The injured man was taken to the Mid Regional Hospital Tullamore where he remains in the intensive care unit.

It is believed that this man was coming from the village of Killeigh and anyone who may have seen him between there and Scrubb are asked to contact Gardaí at Tullamore on 057 9327600.

The relevant time period would most likely be from 6.30pm to 7.20pm.
