Graduation Ceremony Templemore 22/07/10

The Minister for Justice Equality and Law Reform, Mr Dermot Ahern TD presented Certificates to 263 Gardaí (112 Females and 151 Males) at a Graduation Ceremony at the Garda College, Templemore today.

The COMMISSIONER’S MEDAL – awarded to the Student achieving the highest aggregate marks in academic subjects – was won by Garda Majella O’Sullivan a native of Clonmel, Co Tipperary, and who will be stationed at Tallaght Garda Station

 

Garda Maureen Finnerty a native of Kiltormer, Co Galway, was awarded the GARY SHEEHAN MEMORIAL MEDAL, commemorating a Recruit Garda who was killed on duty in Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, in December, 1983.  This prize is awarded to the best all-round Student.  Garda Finnerty will be attached to Tullamore Garda Station.

 

THE TEMPLEMORE TOWN COUNCIL MEDAL, for outstanding achievement and appreciation in the area of Social Science Studies, was presented to Garda Cathal Murphy, a native of Bishopstown, Co Cork, and who will be stationed at  Bantry Garda Station, Co Meath.
