Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy comments on tragedy in Donegal on the 11/7/10

Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy was speaking this morning (13th July) at an international conference being held in Dungarvan Co Waterford - 'Global Intelligence Forum' organised by the Mercyhurst College Institute for Intelligence Studies on Analytic Best Practice.

In his opening address, Commissioner Murphy spoke about the tragic incident in Co. Donegal on the 11th July which resulted in the deaths of eight people.  The Commissioner expressed his deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the bereaved and to the wider community of the Inishowen peninsula.  He also thanked all the emergency services for their work at the tragic scene on Sunday night.


The Garda Commissioner acknowledged the ongoing work of his force with regard to roads policing and reiterated his commitment to the continued deployment of the necessary Garda resources to make our roads a safer place for all road users.
