Fatal shooting on Sherriff Street, Dublin on the 13/7/10 - Arrests

Gardai investigating the shooting of a 32 year old man in Sherriff Street, Dublin this afternoon, the 13th of July 2010, have arrested two people in connection with the incident.

The first, a juvenile male, is detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.  A second man in his late 20's was also arrested this evening and is detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against The State Act 1939.

Gardai are investigating a shooting incident at the junction of Sherriff Street Lower and St. Laurence O'Toole Place, Dublin 1 at 4.45 p.m. on the 13th of July 2010.

The man, who is believed to be 32 years old, was shoot at the scene, he was removed to the Mater Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The area was sealed off by Gardai pending a technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and door to door enquiries are being carried out in the area.

Garda are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Store Street Garda Station on 666 8000.
