Fatal shooting on Sherriff Street, Dublin on the 13/7/10 - Another arrest

Another person has been arrested in relation to this investigation. He is a 16 year old teenager.

The arrest was made in the North Inner City at approximately 2pm this afternoon.

He is being detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.

The second person who had been in custody has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

This means the latest arrest is the sole person in custody in relation to this investigation at present.

A juvenile who was arrested as part of the investigation into a fatal shooting on Sherriff Street on Tuesday the 13th July 2010 has been released without charge.

The man in his late 20's remains in custody.

Gardai are investigating a shooting incident at the junction of Sherriff Street Lower and St. Laurence O'Toole Place, Dublin 1 at 4.45 p.m. on the 13th of July 2010.

The man, who is believed to be 32 years old, was shoot at the scene, he was removed to the Mater Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The area was sealed off by Gardai pending a technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and door to door enquiries are being carried out in the area.

Garda are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Store Street Garda Station on 666 8000.
