Arrests on suspicion of sale and supply of heroin in the South Eastern Region on the 8/7/10

Over the past number of months an operation targetting the sale and supply of heroin in the South Eastern Region has been carried out.

Gardai from the South Eastern Regional Drugs Unit supported by the Garda National Drugs Unit have this morning, 8th July 2010, carried out a search and arrest operation in the Carlow and surrounding areas.

Over twenty searches have been carried out and 11 people (8 males and 3 females), ranging  in ages  from mid 20's to mid 60's have been arrested  and  are being detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act in the following stations: Carlow, Kilkenny, Thomastown and Athy.
