Theft of ATM at Crossmaglen on the 16/1/10

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following the theft of an ATM machine from a bank in the Square area of Crossmaglen.


At approximately 5.50am a tractor and trailer drove into the Square. A digger was taken from the trailer and used to remove the atm machine. The tractor, trailer and digger were set alight and the thieves made off in a flatbed type van and a small, dark coloured car.


Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information relating to it to contact them. Police believe that the digger and tractor used in the theft were stolen from the Ardee area overnight between 14 and 15 January and are also appealing to anyone who observed the orange Fiat Hitachi track digger or green John Deere tractor in the Ardee area or anywhere else between 14 January and 16 January to contact the PSNI on 04890 650222.
