Fatal stabbing at Donaghmede, Dublin on the 16/1/10 - Witness Appeal

Gardai investigating a fatal stabbing in Donaghmede, Dublin 13, are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

The incident began at about 1 am on the 16th of January  2010 in an apartment block on the Hole In The Wall Road.  Occupants of two apartments in The Beeches, Gratton Court, where involved in a row outside one of the apartments.The row spilled outside the apartment block to an area near a fountain.  People living in the area may have heard a disturbance.
 

The two groups then got into two cars,  a silver Ford Focus 03D13273 and a black Honda Civic 06D88112.  The two cars crashed on Hole  In The Wall Road and the victim, who was travelling in the Ford Focus, was fatally stabbed.
 

Both cars are in the possession of Gardai and will be the subject of a forensic technical examination.  A knife was also recovered.  Further searches in the apartment complex are ongoing and a post mortem examination of the victim will take place tomorrow.
 

Gardai would like anyone who may have been in the area of Hole In The Wall Road in the early hours of this morning to contact them.  They would also appeal to anyone who may have information or knowledge of this incident to make contact  with them.
