Gardai in Tralee are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision on the Tralee to Ardfert Rd this evening the 5th Jan 2010 at approx. 18.00hrs.
The collision occurred approx 3 miles (Clogerbrien) from Tralee on the Tralee Ardfert Road. Two cars were involved in the collision and a man (20yrs) was pronounced dead at the scene. He was removed to Tralee General Hospital, another youth who was also in the car was taken to Tralee General Hospital where his injuries are described as serious. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.
Gardai in Tralee are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them on 066 7102300 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
The road remains closed while a Forensic collision investigation is being carried out.
