Attempted burglary in Dublin on the 27/1/10

There will be a court appearance for an attempted burgalry on the South Circular Road.

Two men in their 20’s are due to appear in court on the 18th February in relation to an attempted burglary at a shop on the South Circular Road this morning, the 27th January 2010.

The two men were arrested after they were discovered by Gardai at the rear of the shop as they attempted to gain entry at about 2.00 a.m.

There was extensive damage to the rear of the building where the two men had tried to create a hole in the back wall.

When the men were disturbed they tried to escape through the back gardens of houses, however pursuing Gardai were able to apprehend the men after a short chase. 

There was nothing taken in the incident.

They were detained at Kilmainham Garda Station under Sect 4 Criminal Justice Act and released on bail this morning pending the court appearance in February.
