Fatal shooting at Fortlawn Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin on the 16/2/10 - Court appearance

A male will appear in Blanchardstown District Court today.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting which occurred at a house in Fortlawn Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 at approximately 4am on the morning of the 16th February 2010, have charged an 18 year old male, he will appear in Blanchardstown District Court in relation to the incident this morning, the 18th February 2010 at 10.30hrs.

The other 2 males who were in custody have been released with files being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A third man has been arrested this morning in connection with this investigation. The 24yr man was arrested in Blanchardstown late this morning and is currently detained at Cabra Garda Station under Section 30 OASA.

Gardaí at Blanchardstown will hold a Press Briefing at Blanchardstown Garda Station at 12 noon today 16.2.10 in relation to this morning's shooting incident at Fortlawn. See original Press Release 132/10 below

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting which occurred at a house in Fortlawn Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 at approximately 4am this morning 16/2/10.

A 21 year old man received fatal injuries following the shooting. His body remains at the scene, pending a Garda technical examination and the arrival of the State
Pathologist.


Two men, aged 18 and 23 years, have been arrested in connection with this incident and are currently being detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.


Investigations are ongoing.
