Fatal road traffic collision in Douglas, Cork on the 5/2/10

Gardai at Anglesea Street are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the South Ring Road, Douglas, Cork on the 5/2/10 shortly after midnight.

A 22 year old male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was struck by a car as he crossed the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Cork University Hospital. There was no one else injured in the collision.

The road was closed for a time and has now been reopened following an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to the collision to contact Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021 4522000, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
