Fatal road traffic collision at Muleadys Cross, Westmeath on the 9/2/10

Gardai at Mullingar are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Mullingar to Ballynacarrigy Road at Muleadys Cross at approximately 1.30am on the 9/2/10.

A 36 year old male was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene when the car he was travelling in left the road and collided with a pole. The two other male occupants were taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital at Mullingar, one described as in a serious condition.
 

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place pending an examination by Gardai Forensic Collision Investigators.
