Shooting Co. Meath

Shooting incident Bettystown 7th August 2010

Gardai in Laytown are investigating the circumstances of a shooting at a Public House in Bettystown, Co Meath on the 7th August 2010. One male (41yrs) was injured, his injuries are believed to be non- life threatening.

At approx. 9.40pm 2 males entered McDonagh’s Public House in Bettystown  a number of shots were discharged injuring  one customer. The two culprits fled on foot.

Description of culprits, both between 5’7”-5’10”, one with a thin build the other a heavy build, both wearing hooded tops with scarves disguising their faces.

The injured party was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.The scene is currently being preserved for Technical Examination.
