Gardaí from Sundrive Road have seized firearms, ammunition and a small quantity of drugs following an intelligence led operation by uniformed Gardaí backed up by local detectives.
A house was searched on Wednesday, the 18th August 2010 in the Crumlin area and during the course of the search five (5) firearms, a quantity of ammunition, and a small amount of drugs (cannabis resin) was seized.
A 47 year old man was arrested and detained at Sundrive Road Garda Station under Section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939. This man was subsequently charged in relation to this incident on Friday 20th August and is expected to appear before Dublin District Court (CJJ)on the September 10th 2010.
Investigations are continuing.
