Fatal road traffic collisions in Ballina, Mayo and Dungarvan, Waterford on the 31/7/10 - Victims named

Gardai have named the three people killed in the two fatal road traffic collisions on the 31/7/10:-

Fatal Road Traffic Collision in Ballina, Co. Mayo:

Marta Krawczyk, aged 39 from Krakow, Poland.

Sabina Krawczyk, aged 15 from Krakow, Poland.

 

Fatal Road Traffic Collision in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford:

Maura Walsh, aged 64 from Tallow, Co. Waterford

Gardai in Ballina are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Knockbrendan, The Quay Road, Ballina at approximately 11.50am this morning the 31 of July 2010.

Two female passengers in the car, one in her late 30’s’and one in her mid teens were fatally injured when the car they were travelling in lost control and left the road. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver and two other passengers, one male and one female, were taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar with injuries described as not life threatening.

The road is currently closed and being examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.

Gardai wish to appeal for witness to this collision or anyone that travelled this road between 11.30am and 11.50am that may be able to assist with the investigation to contact Ballina Garda Station on 096 20560 or The Garda Confidential Telephone Line.

Gardai in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the main Waterford/Dungarvan Road at 1.30 p.m. today 31 July, 2010.

A 64 year old female pedestrian was struck by a car and removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where she later passed away.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have any information is asked to contact Dungarvan Garda Station on 058- 48600 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111.
