Gardai at Roscommon are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N61, Athlone to Roscommon road, at Lecarrow at approximately 6am on the 22/8/10.
A male in his 50’s was fatally injured when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Roscommon General Hospital. He was the sole occupant of the car.
The N61 road at Lecarrow has been closed and diversions are in place. The scene is currently being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
