Dru seizurea and arrests at Smithfield, Dublin on the 3/8/10

As part of an ongoing operation targeting organised crime in the South inner city area of Dublin Gardai from the Divisional Organised Crime Unit carried out a planned search on an apartment in the Smithfield area of Dublin at approximately 4.30pm on the 3/8/10.

Heroin with an estimated street value of up to €475,000, subject to analysis, was discovered. A male and female in their 20's were arrested at scene. Both are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kevin Street and Harcourt Terrace Garda Stations.
