Firearm and Ammunition recovered in Donaghamede, Dublin on the 20/10/09 - arrests

These searches were conducted as part of Organised Crime Units on-going investigation on into the activities of organised criminals operating in south city.

 

As part of National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI’s) ongoing investigation into serious crime, members of the Organised Crime Unit searched a house in Donaghmede, Dublin 13 this morning, the 20th October 2009.

 

In the course of the search 3 kilo of mixing agents was recovered.  In a follow up search of a car the following items were recovered:

An Uzi machine gun (subject to examination) and a quantity of ammunition,
10,000 ecstasy tablets (with an estimated street value of approximately €50,000 subject to analysis) and other drug paraphernalia. 
 

At 9.30 this morning, one man (early 30's) was arrested and is currently detained in Coolock Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended and a female in her mid 20’s was also arrested and is currently detained in Raheny Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended. 

 

These searches were conducted as part of Organised Crime Units on-going investigation on into the activities of organised criminals operating in south city.
