Dangerous drugs consumed - Blanchardstown, Dublin on the 1/11/09

Gardai are aware that other than those hospitalized a number of other people attended the party and may have taken or been exposed to liquid ecstasy.

 

Gardai in Blanchardstown are investigating an incident following which up to 8 people have been hospitalized following a party which took place at 3 different addresses in Annaly Court in Ongar, Dublin 15.

 

It’s believed that a number of those in attendance took liquid ecstasy.  A number of those present subsequently reported feeling unwell and were brought to Blanchardstown Hospital shortly before 5am this morning - 1st November 2009. 

 

Three of those were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

 

Gardai are aware that other than those hospitalized a number of other people attended the party and may have taken or been exposed to liquid ecstasy. 

 

Gardai are now appealing to anyone who attended the party / parties to seek medical attention without delay.  Gardai are also appealing to family or friends of persons who may have attended the parties to check on such persons.

 

Some of those who attended may be living alone and Gardai are anxious that those people are checked on and given medical advice without delay.

 

Anyone who could assist in this investigation or assist in ensuring those requiring medical attention receive it are asked to contact Blanchardstown on 01-6667000.

 

A Garda investigation into the supply and consumption of a controlled substance is underway but the priority at this stage is to ensure that anyone who consumed or was exposed to dangerous drugs receives medical attention.
